Chelsey Reist was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. For fourteen years,
Chelsey studied and trained in strict Cecchetti Jazz Technique, Jazz Performance
and Modern Dance at the elite West Edmonton Ballet Academy. Having competed in
numerous dance competitions throughout her life for Jazz, Ballet, Modern and even
Bollywood, Chelsey continues her training today.
Chelsey was fortunate enough to experience other cultures and countries as her parents
held world travel to be of high importance. Some of the places Chelsey travelled included:
Bermuda, the Bahamas, Aruba, Montego Bay, the Florida Keys, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica,
Mexico, Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, and throughout the United States.
When Chelsey started working part time at a law firm it didn’t take long before realizing
that working indoors was not where she was meant to be! The news of film and stage
production, the opportunity to be part of something artistic, to live in a city known to
support the liberal arts, and the promise of rain brought Chelsey to Vancouver in 2005
without ever having visited.
Her feet had barely touched the ground before she enrolled in the Acting for the Camera
and Acting for Stage & Screen program at Capilano University. On summer breaks Chelsey
used her spare time to travel. In 2008 Chelsey left on what was supposed to be a three week
trip, but couldn't bear to give up backpacking and returned over two months later from
Southeast Asia. Starting off with two companions but completing the majority of her trip
independently, Chelsey travelled with no concrete plans and nothing but a backpack
throughout Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Hong Kong.
It was with great excitement and eagerness that Chelsey was invited to embark on a
new journey with Discovering Great Towns. Combined with her on-camera experience
and her lust for travel, led by emotionality and an inquisitive nature, Chelsey is ever
eager to experience the journey ahead and discover the unique and exciting towns and people
along the way. |
